Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Takes the Fight to Switch 2 This October

SNK announced that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is making its way to Nintendo Switch 2 as Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Standard Edition.

This release will include content from Seasons 1–3, bringing the roster so far and forthcoming characters such as Kim Kaphwan and Laocorn into the fight. That should give players plenty of options when deciding who to main, all while taking the fight on the go.

Preorders will also net Mai Shiranui’s Classic Costume, for all the good little boys and girls out there. Just when we thought Nintendo wouldn’t give Mai yet another chance, here she comes with her classic look intact. It does make us wonder how her Hidden Gear animation will handle the costume, since that move already has her changing into this outfit.

We enjoyed our return to Southtown in our review of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, praising its comic book-inspired visuals, the depth of the REV system, and a massive soundtrack packed with SNK history. The arcade endings also gave longtime fans some satisfying payoffs after years of waiting. We did have issues with online consistency and felt the single-player content could have gone further, but there was still plenty to enjoy for both newcomers and returning fighters.

As for Switch 2 features, sharing the Joy-Con 2 controllers for a fight with a friend looks to be part of the appeal here. The digital edition arrives on October 22, 2026, while anyone holding out for a physical copy will have to wait until January 2027.
