PS5 Exclusive God of War Laufey Has Officially Been Delayed by Three Months

Developer Santa Monica Studio has just announced its upcoming game, God of War Laufey, has been delayed.

Originally planned for release on 16th February 2027, the PS5 exclusive action game will now launch just over three months later on 20th May.

The news comes via a statement published to social media:

"Since the reveal of God of War Laufey in June, we've been deeply grateful to see so much excitement for Faye's journey through the Everywhen," the statement says. "We don't take for granted the trust placed in our studio to make an extraordinary experience worthy of the passion and dedication of our fans."

Santa Monica Studio says it'll "make the most of each moment until then by putting in the finishing touches and pushing the game to its fullest potential."

God of War Laufey is the next entry in Sony's popular action series, chronicling the journey of Kratos' late wife, Faye, as she navigates the afterlife.

As mentioned in the above statement, the game was officially announced in June of this year, and even then it appeared to be close to release. At the time, some thought Sony was pushing Laufey harder than the imminent Marvel's Wolverine.

Still, the game will launch within a year of its announcement, which is pretty good going.
