Ubisoft announced today that the bold reimagining of the beloved 2013 platformer, Rayman Legends Retold, has been delayed from its original October 1st release date to December 3rd. The statement posted on the Rayman social media pages reveals that although the game has officially gone gold, the team has chosen to take more time to ensure every detail gets the care it deserves. The statement also says we will see a new Game Overview Trailer on September 22nd.
Fans of the original Rayman Legends may find the delay of Retold particularly familiar. The game was initially slated for a late 2012 release, before pushed back to February 2013 and delayed again by six months after the financial failure of ZombiU.
While it’s never nice to see a game we are looking forward to delayed, especially this close to launch, the packed release schedule in September and October could give Rayman Legends Retold a bit more breathing room in December. With fewer major titles to compete with, the extra time could give the game a better chance of success.
