Excited for Tropico 7

Kalypso announced the release date for Tropico 7: January 28, 2027. I was so excited when I saw that that I had not actually noticed that they pushed the release from 2026 to 2027. Then again, it is not a huge delay. They previously only said 2026 without giving any details.

I like what I see in the trailer and am just happy to know how long approximately it takes. And to be honest, I don’t care how long it really does take in the end as long as I will eventually get the game… looking at you, Prison Architect 2.

My favourite game in this series is still Tropico 4, although nostalgia might get mixed in here. I did not enjoy Tropico 5 as much and am relatively happy with Tropico 6 – except for one thing: They did not give us a campaign! We have individual maps which each give us an independent story and those are nice. But I really miss having a campaign. Apparently, we will get one again with Tropico 7 as it says in the description: “Tropico 7 tells El Presidente’s continuous success story across 5 campaign maps – starring himself, Penultimo and a new nemesis: Victoria Guerra.”

Everything else we will have to see how it plays out (like terraforming, the political matrix, etc.).
