New Official Barbie Release Confirmed for November 12

Barbie Rewindis officially scheduled to launch on November 12, 2026. It will bring 16 classic Barbie games to modern consoles as well as an entirely new dream house decorating experience for all players. The upcoming collection Barbie Rewind will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Without a doubt, Barbie is one of the most recognizable names in the industry, and this has been a fact for decades now. Yes, most people probably associate the character with dolls, movies, and clothes, but the truth is that Barbie has a pretty extensive history in video games. In fact, Barbie has appeared in many titles throughout the years, anything from adventure titles to pet simulators games. However, it's important to note that many of these older releases are inaccessible on modern hardware, which makes the upcoming collection even more interesting for longtime fans.

Although Atari advertises Barbie Rewind as a collection of 16 classic games, its official website lists 17 titles. The reason for this discrepancy has not been clarified.

Barbie Rewind is a collection of 16 games released between 1991 and 2007. The brand-new experience will allow players to customize Barbie's iconic DreamHouse all over again, which is something that many would be happy to hear. Some of the confirmed titles include classic adventure games that most people don't remember today, like Barbie Pet Rescue and Barbie Horse Adventures: Blue Ribbon Race.

Moreover, players will also get Barbie: Vacation Adventure, which was originally developed for the Sega Genesis and SNES but was never released. In other words, the collection is not merely an opportunity for people to feed their nostalgia; it will also allow those who are fans of 90s platformer games to experience a piece of Barbie's gaming history that was previously hidden.

Those who enjoy home design games will be happy to hear that they will also be able to choose between three retro DreamHouse designs and even customize individual rooms. It has been confirmed that there will be more than 250 pieces of furniture, decorations, and other accessories inspired by all kinds of Barbie products that we have seen through the years. The game will also have a progression system of its own, so completing challenges in the classic titles will reward players. Of course, people can also expect to see characters like Ken, Teresa, and Christie. Barbie Rewind will be available digitally for $29.99. Physical editions are planned for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, while the latter's Deluxe Edition will cost $59.99 and include an exclusive Barbie doll wearing an Atari T-shirt, along with some other exclusive items.

Overall, Barbie Rewind seems to have the potential to bring together two very different audiences. In other words, older players will get an opportunity to revisit their old favorite games, while younger fans will be able to discover how Barbie's video game adventures have developed through the years. Of course, it is still unclear whether the collection will appeal to both groups, but combining nostalgia with a modern decorating experience would certainly be an interesting surprise for many. Moreover, it might even encourage developers to give second chances to forgotten classic games that probably could have been genre greats more often.
