Villion: Code getting English release on Nintendo Switch 2, Switch

Idea Factory is localizing Villion: Code for an English release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, the company just announced. The North American and European launch will take place in 2027.

Villion: Code previously came to Japan this past June. The game is a new school RPG led by Kouji Okada, who previously worked on Megami Tensei and Persona.

Idea Factory provided the following details:

In the near future, humanity teeters on the brink of extinction.

The Adhvan Resilience School was founded to take a stand against the incoming calamity, but one day, tragedy struck.

Monstrous creatures known as GEMs began attacking the people, forcing the academy city to seal itself off using a mysterious bubble and cut off all means of escape.

In the midst of this nightmare, those trapped inside must face the burdens of their sins.

What truth lies behind the anomaly shrouding the city…?

Key Features

  • Sankhara Space-Time Oddity – Traverse Adhvan City and explore the Sankhara Space Time—randomly generated, 360-degree tube-shaped dungeons inspired by Buddhism’s The Ten Evils. Battle GEMs and overcome tricky gimmicks that stand in your way.
  • Finding a Favorite Trait – Characters wield Genome Arms—mutated weapons with unique attack traits. Switch seamlessly between melee and ranged combat styles to chain together powerful combos.
  • Crafting Genes With Genome Cubes – Collect Ampules from dungeons to synthesize Genome Cubes. Players can further strengthen their Genome Cubes by collecting EX Factors—items found in dungeons and in shops that enhance Base Stats, grant additional bonuses, and unlock Passive Skills to gain an edge against the GEMs.
  • What’s in a Story? – Experience the story through Conversation and Investigation events featuring artwork by Ilya Kushinov. Make split-second choices that can shape the future.
